MEMBERSHIP LEVELS & MEMBER INSTITUTIONS
Initial & Members  | Sustaining & Members  |  FCPC Affiliate Sustaining Members | Advanced & Members

Association with the CPCA may be at the membership level which provides for three tiers of association.  Additionally, membership provides for the possibility of also seeking certification (though membership does not necessarily imply certification).  There are four levels of certification.  Non-member and non-certified institutions are cordially invited to review the membership and certification criteria, and to contact the CPCA for additional information.

MEMBERSHIP

The Council of Private Colleges of America welcomes institutions to consider the benefits of membership.  The purpose of the CPCA is, “Preventive and Proactive Protection of Today’s Private Faith Based Colleges for Tomorrow’s Students,” by serving private, degree granting, faith- based institutions that provide quality education.

The CPCA has a proven track record that promotes “Keeping the Lord’s testimony above reproach,”, and “United We Stand, Divided Individually We Can Be Conquered.” The CPCA is for faith-based institutions that do not take government funds in the USA, excluding: 1. VA benefits in the USA and 2. Institutions with USDE recognized accreditation.  A faith-based institution that has a physical presence, is legally incorporated, and offers instruction in any US State or Territory (or in other countries where feasible), in agreement with the purpose and mission of the CPCA, is welcome to apply for membership.  Membership approval is determined by an action of the Executive Committee of the CPCA.

Membership Levels

INITIAL MEMBERSHIP - Any institution that joins the CPCA, between July 1 to June 30 prior to the following October 1, will be a CPCA Initial Member.  The initial membership period allows an opportunity for the institution and existing CPCA members to mutually ascertain that the new CPCA Initial Member is in agreement and compliance with CPCA criteria.  CPCA Initial Member with extenuating circumstances may request one year extension of CPCA Initial Membership only.  The CPCA Facilitator Program will assist and evaluate the progress of the new CPCA Initial Member with the goal of a recommendation for advancement to Sustaining Membership level. EXCEPTIONS: 1. An institution with USDE recognized accreditation will join immediately as an Advanced Member. 2. An institution with USDE recognized accreditation Applicant or Candidate status will join immediately as a Sustaining Member.
